Who is Fidelia Schnarr?
Fidelia Schnarr, M.S., CCC-SLP, is an educator, speech-language pathologist, entrepreneur, advocate, and first-generation Belizean American whose career has been shaped by one consistent question: How can the knowledge we have actually reach the people who need it?
Her career began in the classroom as a special education teacher and Teach For America corps member. That experience eventually led her into speech-language pathology, where she has worked with children, adults, families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams across schools, early intervention, healthcare, and community settings.
But Fidelia’s interests have never stopped at direct service. Her career has grown to include professional development, mentorship, community education, public policy, advocacy, and leadership. She completed a Leaders for Educational Equity public policy fellowship, has served through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in work related to early language development, and has earned the ASHA ACE Award in recognition of her commitment to continuing education.
Her connection to Belize is also an important part of her story. As a first-generation Belizean American, Fidelia has volunteered her speech-language pathology expertise in Belize and remains committed to service, philanthropy, education, and expanding access to information and resources.
Today, she is building Fidelity Speech and Voice Therapy, Inc. around the intersection of communication, education, partnership, and community—bringing practical experience from the classroom, clinical settings, policy spaces, and communities into work organizations can actually use.
And outside of all of that, Fidelia is still Fidelia. She loves her family, traveling, exercising, live music, good food, laughing with her friends, and spending time with her dog. Her career is a major part of her purpose, but it is not the only part of who she is.
